Central Superior Services – CSS Exam is a competitive exam conducted by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) Islamabad of Pakistan every year for recruitment to the posts in the Basic Pay Scale 17 under the Federal Government. Candidates who want to apply for the exam must be graduate. Degree issued by a HEC registered university of Pakistan. For foreign students, a degree equivalent to the same qualification may be accepted, although the final decision rests with the Pakistani Commission, while those with a third-class bachelor’s degree may appear for the examination only if they are joint holders of a higher-class master’s degree. The minimum age and education to appear for this exam is 21 to 30 years and both male and female having at least second class bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply. As per the estimates of FPSC, a total of 8,000 to 10,000 candidates apply for the CSS exam. On an average 5,000 to 6,000 candidates actually appear and around 250 to 500 candidates qualify the written part of the FPSC CSS Exam. The application fee of the competitive exam is Rs 2200. If a candidate wants to recheck his paper, then the rechecking fee per paper is Rs 500. Candidates have to submit the dues to the Federal Commission Service Commission.
Candidates have only three chances to appear in CSS exam. No candidate can appear in CSS exam more than three times. According to the information of FPSC, this exam is conducted in 21 cities of Pakistan.
