Since 2003 the Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) is working under the ordinance of the Government of Pakistan. Since its inauguration the board is working independently to conduct secondary and higher secondary examination. AKU-EB is a federal board of intermediate and secondary education and provides education in both Urdu and English mode. The exam is conducted twice a year. The first session exam is conducted in May and second session exam is conducted in September and it takes about three months for the 10th class result declaration. The board also develops the syllabus to meet the present time and specific level requirement. To obtain a degree, students need to pass at least eight subjects. Of these, five are core and three are elective subjects. The objective of the board is to provide quality education in a fair manner. It also trains teachers and uploads learning materials for students of the region as per the national curriculum.
