BISE Kohat became an independent board in 2002 and Brigadier (Retd) Talat Imtiaz Naqvi was appointed as the founding chairman. As the board is functioning, it is conducting the examination for all the students of Kohat division. It has command over the districts of Kohat, Karak and Hangu, and the agencies Kurram and Aurakzai. The main objective of the board is to conduct the examination in a clear environment.
The board allots the supervisory staff at the examination center and ensures that all the question papers will be conducted in a fair manner under the supervision of the supervisory staff. If it finds any ambiguity it can disqualify the concerned teacher and candidate also. Regular and private students from affiliated areas can apply for registration in the board.
